In light of the measures put into place by HM Government on 23 March, Theatre Royal Wakefield will be closed until further notice. We are trying to reschedule shows where possible and our team will be contacting all customers with tickets for any shows affected by this closure. For urgent enquiries our Box Office number (01924 211 311) will be open Mon – Fri, 10am - 1pm. Other enquiries should be directed to the Box Office email address (click here). Thank you for your cooperation during this uncertain time.
Under normal circumstances, our Box Office is open Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm (or until half an hour after a performance starts). We are only open on Saturdays if there is a performance in either The Matcham Auditorium or The Walker Studio. Visit our What's On page to see if we have show on the day you plan to visit. We are only open on Sundays and Public Bank Holidays if there is a performance, from one hour before the first performance.
Buying and collecting tickets
During the day when purchasing tickets in advance for a show, the box office will be located in the new Café/Bar area so that you can purchase tickets and also a coffee or cake. When arriving for a performance, the new box office will be closed (the bar remains open) and tickets will be collected and bought from the Pre-show ticket sales and collection desk, which is located where the old box office was in the Matcham foyer. The Pre-show tickets sales and collection desk will be open 90 minutes prior to any performance in either the Matcham Auditorium or Walker Studio.
Our Box Office staff can help advise you on where to sit or to help with prices. Ticket discounts are available for Theatre+ members, click here to find out more about Theatre+.
