EVITA Auditions - call out for male performers

Theatre Royal Wakefield

We are looking for a young male actor to play the vocally and physically demanding role of Peron in our youth production of EVITA. Peron was a man of the people; an impressive, charismatic politician. We need a performer who can be authoritative, persuasive, charming and physically imposing on stage.

We are also looking for male performers with mature voices to join our ensemble as Peron’s military staff.

For ages 16-22 (must be this age on the final night - 31 August 2024)

Please note: this is a project involving a training experience in musical theatre performance. We charge a fee to take part. Please read through all FAQs below for more information.

Our annual pantomime is the biggest event of the year at Theatre Royal Wakefield. 2023’s production of Sleeping Beauty played to 28,800 audience members. The chorus, made up of local young people, plays a crucial role in making the show spectacular. The schedule is tough and requires commitment and discipline, but it is also a brilliant opportunity to perform alongside and work with a professional cast and crew.

Our Wakefield Youth Music Theatre shows are high-quality, popular musical theatre productions with a full youth cast made up of local children and young people who take part in two weeks of intensive performance training with us. They are amateur productions performed on a professional stage at Theatre Royal Wakefield for ten performances to audiences of over 4,000 people. The age range for our Youth Musicals change from year to year dependant on the production.
