This week we’re delighted to welcome our young stars back to the stage for the annual Sing! Dance! Act! Performance Academy Showcase. The annual showcase is a variety show, which includes dance, drama, and musical theatre sections created during our weekly Performance Academy training sessions. Participants gain practical experience of rehearsing and performing on a professional stage and working as a company. During Performance Academy sessions, our young people also learn about auditioning and how to give a good audition. We have featured specialities during the showcase which are auditioned, but many participants also go on to audition for our annual WYMT youth musical productions (Evita, Guys and Dolls, The Band) and pantomime chorus, as well as other performance opportunities.

Sing! Dance! Act! celebrates the hard work our young people put into their training, and families love seeing the progress their child has made. One parent said, about their child: “[She] loves going on a Saturday to learn more skills and to make new friendships. [She] is getting better and better as the years go on and I look forward to seeing how far she has come with every showcase.”
