We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded Charity of the Year at the Wakefield BID Awards and Wakefield Member of the Year at the MY Chamber Awards!
Our nominations considered all aspects of the work we deliver, including inclusion, creativity, and community empowerment. We deliver high-quality productions that entertain and inspire, but our impact reaches far beyond the stage. As a registered charity, we are committed to making the arts accessible to all.
Our work supports learning-disabled young people, empower students, and opens doors for marginalised groups including asylum seekers, refugees, and young carers.
We’ve partnered with Wakefield Deaf Society and Sight Aid to improve accessibility, and our Performance Academy nurtures the next generation of creative talent. Every programme we deliver is rooted in the belief that theatre can transform lives, by building confidence, sparking imagination, and creating connection. Two of our brilliant Performance Academy students, Esmae and Mary performed Somebody to Love from We Will Rock You and Burn from Hamilton at the MY Chamber Awards.
We so are proud of the creative experiences and opportunities that we offer here at Theatre Royal Wakefield and we had a great evening celebrating alongside the fantastic businesses in our local community.
