News Story

Last week we launched our 40 for 40 Challenge!
Sarah and Grace are taking on new challenges in each of the 40 days running up to our Gala performance on Saturday 21 March. Our Gala performance is dedicated to celebrating the 40th anniversary of our reopening in 1986, so 40 challenges for 40 years! They launched last Tuesday and they've already been busy!
On Tuesday they teamed up with our friends over at Recent for a latte art challenge and on Wednesday they took a trip to Specsavers Wakefield to become opticians. Then on Thursday Grace was joined by Daisy and Elliyah from our Communication team to meet up with Wakefield Bid's street ranger, James, to help him litter pick in the city centre. Sarah wrapped up week one's weekday challenges with axe-throwing!
At the weekend Grace and Sarah will be trying to collectively run/walk 40km.
You can keep updated on their progress with the challenges on our Facebook and Instagram.
See below for a reminder of how you can support them and how you could even get involved!

Pledge to Donate to Sponsor Them!
On Tuesday 17 March we will be launching our Arts for Impact fundraising campaign with the Big Give. For one week, all donations to our Big Give campaign will be doubled, which means that we'll receive £2 for every pound you donate. Pledge to sponsor the team and donate when the campaign opens on 17 March. Come back to our news page on Tuesday 17 March for a link to our campaign!

Take on your own 40 challenge!
Feeling inspired by our 40 for 40 challenge, why not give yourself a challenge? You could challenge yourself to try something new for the next 40 days, or try to do 40 of something a day. With the support of Grace from the Development Team, you could collect donations from friends and family for the Theatre. Email development@theatreroyalwakefield.co.uk for more info!
