What do you do?

Whilst working 4 jobs in Leeds I am at Leeds Actors in Training -  ( Leeds Grand Theatre and The City Varieties.) I am also a Young Leader at Leeds Playhouse and working towards obtaining my Gold Arts Award. I am currently developing my own play and have recently been successful in auditioning for the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and after attending the Senior Acting Course in London this Summer I will become an official member.

What shows/training did you take part in at Theatre Royal Wakefield and when?

Performance Academy / Wakefield Youth Music Theatre / Young Writers.

I was an original member of the Performance Academy from 2011 and left in summer of 2016. During my time at Theatre Royal Wakefield I performed in many productions with Wakefield Youth Music Theatre including : West Side Story (2010)  She Loves You, Yeah ! (2012)  Miss Saigon (2013/14 ) Strictly Musicals ( 2016 ) as well as the Performance Academy's annual showcases.

How did being involved with Theatre Royal Wakefield make a difference?

Being involved with the Theatre Royal Wakefield provided me with many opportunities to develop as a creative. It taught me to appreciate how much hard work, commitment, time and resilience is needed to produce a good piece of work.

Top tip for our current participants?

Work hard, commitment is key , pay attention to the feedback you get and use it to develop your strengths as well as any weaknesses. It’s important to find your own voice, using this and being proud of it will only help you to realise the goals you aspire to.
