In 2011 peace gave way to violence, again…This time it was Syria…But has been thousands of other places previously…It has happened before and it will, history suggests…happen again…
In every conflict the narrative news of the day, and then those that compile the history, focus on the key protagonists, the players at the top, but there are so many millions of stories that are the true reality of conflict, the real history, however we seldom hear these.
In 2018 we sat with many dozens of Syrian refugees, now living in the UK, to ask what it was like to be one of the families trapped on the ground, facing mortal threat and who decide to flee. We heard hours and hours of honest, harrowing but resilient testimony from refugees, of all social and economic status’, and from these conversations came the play, How to be Lucky.
The production is a one man show and it is performed in English.
