The Theatre Royal Wakefield Performance Academy is a Saturday training program for young people aged 5-19 years in Wakefield and the surrounding area. All students are trained in Acting, Singing and Dancing. There are currently 2 Performance Academy Locations;
Performance Academy Wakefield (which was launched in March 2011) and Performance Academy Kidz (for 5-7 year olds, launched in April 2012) take place on a Saturday afternoon at Wakefield College, Thornes Park Campus.
Performance Academy Pontefract (which was launched in January 2012) takes place on a Saturday morning at Carleton Community High School.
Our performance academy showcase will involve some of the greatest young talent from West Yorkshire in a selection of thrilling theatrical moments at their home venue, Theatre Royal Wakefield. There is something for every age group and every taste, from beautiful choral arrangements such as Circle of Life and True Colours, to Dance tributes to Michael Jackson and Cirque Du Soleil.
Our young company will also perform show stopping Musical Theatre excerpts from Shrek, Annie, Hair, Avenue Q, Nine to Five, Les Miserables and the magnificent finale from Rent! Book your tickets now for this exciting showcase!
