After the success of West Side Story, Les Miserables School
Edition, this Summer Wakefield Youth Music Theatre
brings you ‘Flashdance’ at Theatre Royal Wakefield. The show
will be performed from 29th August until the 8th September.
Set in Pittsburgh USA, Flashdance tells the story of 18 year old
Alex, a welder by day and ‘flashdancer’ by night, whose dream
is to obtain a place at the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy.
When Alex catches the eye of her boss Nick Hurley, their romance
shows her the meaning of love and drives her ambition to pursue her dream.
The show features an iconic score including the smash hit ‘Maniac’
along with ‘Manhunt’, ‘Gloria’ and the Academy Award winning title
Track ‘Flashdance-What a Feeling!’ as well as 10 original songs for
the musical.

Our Performance Academy Wakefield has been such a huge success (over 70 young people attend every week) that we are launching a brand new Performance Academy in Pontefract in January 2012 and a Performance Academy Kidz (for 5-7 year olds) in April 2012.
