THEATRE ROYAL WAKEFIELD
AWARDED SUBSTANTIAL NEW
ARTS FUNDING

Theatre Royal Wakefield has made a successful bid to Arts Council England’s Grants For The Arts Programme and will receive £99,570 to establish a new Business Development Department focusing on securing new funding to support the theatre, the building and the artistic output.

Executive Director Murray Edwards was informed of the decision on Monday and said;
“We are absolutely delighted that our bid to secure funding from the Arts Council’s Grants for the Arts programme has been successful. We have worked extremely hard to put a robust application together and it’s testament to the work we do for the people of this district they have agreed to back us by awarding the full amount that we requested”

Grants for the Arts is a national arts funding scheme which uses funds provided by the National Lottery. Funding is awarded for activities carried out over a set period which engages people in the arts. Its purpose is to help artists and arts organisations in England to develop their work and take it to new audiences.
