Wednesday 18 June Wednesday 13 August Wednesday 17 September 5 - 9pm Art Walk aims to encourage cultural growth and establish a network support structure for local visual arts outlets through an evening of joint private view exhibition openings and open open studios in Wakefield's centre. You are invited to move from venue to venue (including Theatre Royal Wakefield's Interval Café) where a glass of wine awaits accompanied by as much contemporary art as one can handle in an evening! Wakefield city centre is not only compact and walker friendly, it also nestles between two of the UK's busiest motorways; the M62 and M1, with a railway station on the major London - Edinburgh line. Historically, Wakefield has sealed its name in the art world, though more importantly, promising artists are choosing 'this merry city' as a place to work. There has been no better time or place for the launch of a scheme of this kind in Wakefield. Unfortunately, being inside a grade II listed Victorian building, Interval Café has limited access for those with disbilities. Please contact us in advance to discuss you requirements on 01924 215 531 x100. For more information about participating venues click here for the Art Walk flier.
